Background

As the course come to end, our lecture Mr. Raymond Bahana asked us to make a game designed for kindergarten student for our final project assignment. Because the game is for kindergarten student, it should be educative, simple, and useful for their age. Why a computer game? Because almost everyone including kids are using computer on their daily life. The design should be colourful and animated, so kids will not feel bored while playing the game. For this game, we pick aquatic theme for our game. After numerous decisions, we decided to make a game called “Alphabet Order”. It is a game for students who’s not yet learn to write or read. Before these students jump to word or sentence, they must be familiar with alphabet and its order. They can learn it through our game.

Description

“Alphabet Order” is a really simple educative game. The goal of this game is to help kids who just entered school and not yet learned about alphabet, reading, and writing. Come with exciting layout design, simple but very educative, our game would be very useful.

Like common application, our game starts with main menu. Nothing special here. The main menu is contained with play button for entering the game, exit button for closing the game, and credits button to see materials that we used for our game.

When users entered the game, animation of fishes swimming will show and causing the alphabet blocks to collapse. Later, users are required to put back the alphabet blocks correctly.

After all the blocks collapsed, a pop-up menu will show and the users can choose whether they want to watch the tutorial first or straight playing into the game.

The tutorial option will show users a brief description about how to play the game. We also add some videos to it to make it more understandable and help the users to play the game.

After watching the tutorial, users will be directed to the game and starts to arranging the alphabet. You can see on the picture that some alphabets are upside down and can make the users especially kids confused. So, we made the blocks will show properly if users click on it. Also, the alphabet won’t stick into the boxes if it’s placed in the wrong box

After arranging all the alphabet blocks, a message will pop up and congratulate the users for finishing the game. In several seconds, it will take the users back to the main menu.

-End of the game-
